Hend secures victory in Queen´s Cup
BANGKOK: Australian huge hitter Scott Hend defeated a two-shot shortfall to grab triumph in the Queen’s Cup on Thailand’s Koh Samui island on Sunday as overnight pioneer Prom Meesawat lurched.
The 42-year-old completed the day with a four-under-standard 67, one shot in front of runner-up and neighborhood ability Gunn Charoenkul in the $300,000 rivalry at the Santiburi Samui Country Club.
It was Hend’s second title of the season and his ninth profession triumph on the Asian Tour.
Hend, the best global player on the visit, said he was satisfied to compensate for some later close wins in Mauritius and China.
“Whether this was my green or not, I’ve been playing great golf and attempting to not get down on myself. It’s pleasant to win once more,” he said, by report by visit coordinators.
Two late intruder saw Thailand’s Prom go from beginning the day out in front to completion with a frustrating 72.
He completed in joint third close by American Paul Peterson, Korea’s Wang Jeung-hun and Thailand’s Pavit Tangkamolprasert.
