Government, Opposition approve 4 names for ECP members
ISLAMABAD: The 12-part parliamentary council has endorsed four names for arrangement as individuals from the Election Commission.
The meeting of the council was held in Islamabad on Monday under the chairmanship of Minister for Information Pervaiz Rashid.
As indicated by the media reports, the names affirmed by the board of trustees are resigned Justice Altaf Ibrahim Qureshi from Punjab; Abdul Ghaffar Soomro from Sindh, resigned Justice Ms. Irshad Qaiser from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and resigned Justice Shakeel Baloch from Balochistan.
The affirmed names would now be sent to the Prime Minister which would be trailed by a formal notice for arrangement of the individuals from the Election Commission, it is accounted for.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan had given the league July 27 as due date to finish Election Commission by designating its four common individuals.
As per the 22nd Constitutional Amendment, ECP individuals must be named inside 45 days. In the moment case, the period is going to lapse on July 27. Under Article 218 of the Constitution, the ECP contains boss race magistrate and four individuals, one from every area.
