Zimbabwe lose strike bowler Chatara for test series
HARARE: Zimbabwe strike bowler Tendai Chatara has been precluded of the test arrangement against New Zealand subsequent to harming his lower leg, Zimbabwe Cricket declared on Monday.
The 25-year-old was relied upon to initiate the house side’s assault in two tests in Bulawayo, beginning on Thursday.
He harmed his lower leg knocking down some pins for Zimbabwe An on the main day of their three-day match against the sightseers in Harare which completed in a simple 259-run win for New Zealand on Sunday.
Chatara, who cracked his leg playing an easygoing round of soccer a year ago, will be supplanted in the Zimbabwe squad by Michael Chinouya, 30, who has just two one-day internationals to his name.
Chatara is the second Zimbabwe seamer to be precluded after Tinashe Panyangara likewise neglected to recoup from a back issue in time for the arrangement.
Zimbabwe will play their first test arrangement in right around 20 months. Both tests are at the Queens Sports Club. The second is from August 6-10.
